Default '08 MyGiG is worthless

I just got the '08 Signature Series, because of the package that came with it. I couldn't find a Signature Series that had the NAV and Uconnect included with the "Series". I'm not sure why this is, because you would figure that a "Signature Series" should be top notch. Anyway, with 180 miles on the thing, I'm I'm trying to see if I can get more "plug-ins" for it. Like a NAV system, Uconnect, and Automatic heating and cooling system for starters. Guess I'd would have been better off hand picking one that had all those options rather than having a salesman tell me I can add them later (without explaining that none of those go through the actual system). From what I understand, I need a whole new reprogrammed head unit to get the NAV. The Uconnect buttons are apparently "just for looks", and I 'might' be able to connect one through the mirror (if I purchase a Uconnect mirror (my headliner has a hold in it for the cable to run through, but I'm not sure the wires will run down to a connector - if the connector is there)). However, the Automatic heating and cooling system may be plug and play if the male connectors are generic enough - rumor has it. Anyone know of all these rumors?? My word of advice to anyone else is to buy a decked out Aspen for the $45k MSRP and purchase the 'Signature Series' badges and stick them to the sides of the truck, because it'd be a lot easier. Course, I guess you'd miss out on the cool 'two-toned seats'.

I don't think you can upgrade to the Automatic A/C system. Installing a NAV, UConnect, etc. is a matter of wiring harnesses and money. We took out the original NAV, and replaced it with the Kenwood DNX7100 package with bluetooth, NAV, Sirius, iPod interface, etc., and love it.

I have a brand new 2007 Aspen NAV for sale at $900 if someone is interested.

I took out my OEM nav, and put in a Pioneer, with all the goodies, a better system by far, was able to sell it on ebay for 750, which was good enough, I think we got tha last year for the old nav, everything now is the MYGIG. You should of gotten the Limited model. The Signature model is a fancy name for stripped down model, and I don't think you can upgrade, because of the lack of correct harnesses
