Default RE: 2008 Aspen - Cold Air Intake

I was told by the local service rep that any cold air intake other than a Mopar setup would void the warranty. I was also told to ONLY use conventional oil with only Chrysler/Mopar oil filters as that would void the lifetime engine warranty as well. I have always run synthetic in every other car I've owned. Seems a little strange. Has anyone else heard this from Chrysler? Any validity to it? Thanks.
The Magnuson-Moss Act states that the dealer can only deny a warranty claim if an aftermarket part can be proven to have caused the failure (paraphrased). In other words, if your engine blows and happens to have a CAI, they have to prove that the CAI at least contributed to the failure. The dealer fed you this line of BS because: 1) they don't want to deal with aftermarket parts when they service your engine; and 2) they'd rather you buy MOPAR parts from them, obviously.

Your dealer's service department must be filled with monkeys flinging dung at each other, because synthetic oil will NOT cause any issues with your Mopar filters. As a matter of fact, my dealer has a specific line item for "Hemi synthetic oil change", and they recommend it for engine longevity.

I recommend going elsewhere, because you're being lied to.

Thanks for the info. I figured it was a little out of the ordinary; just wanted to see if it was part of the Chrysler party line, or just this one dealership. I guess they are hedging their bet that it is easier to prove that the CAI harmed the engine rather than proving that it didn't. With the 'new' Hemi's with the increased HP coming out, I'll be looking at CAI or some other tweaks to get mine up to 400HP. Thanks again.

Hi, I'm going to buy a cold air intake.
I'm thinking of three companies Mopar, K&N, AEM Brute Force.
What company is better to choose?
I've heard that such a filter can destroy the engine, is it true (filter pass more dust)?

Can someone show video what sound seems Aspen after installing a cold air intake?

I know airraid makes a great product and they make a full Cold Air Intake for the Aspen.

I know this thread is old but, I have an 08 Aspen with the Hemi and bought the K&N intake kit for the 07 aspen. (k&n doesn't list one for 08). It fits perfect. The only thing i had to do was move the bracket that attaches the air shield to the core support to the outside of the air shield. The same holes work and everything lines up perfect. (I prefer k&n over air raid and aem)

The TrueFlow was truly a 30 minute install.. with filter and all.
I second the motion. I have a True Flow on my Aspen and I swear it gives me a few more horsepower.
