They said the only thing they did was service the throttle plate which is supposed to be serviced every 15-30,000 miles. I don't know I've ever had it serviced. My question is why didn't they tell me this last year when it happened and why wasn't the car throttle serviced then?

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOP OFF GAS TANK WHEN FILLING/. This alone could be your problem. Make sure you have the throttle assembly cleaned and maintained routinely. I'm now calling Chrysler Cust Service to discuss what I was told by my Chrysler main supervisor. But start with my first two suggestions. The overfilling the gas tank is a big issue!!!

Unhappy Same Problem

My Wife has a 2007 Chrysler ASpen LIMITED with the 5.7L HEMI. I am Currently deployed and she is having this same issue. It only happens after she refuels and had less than 1/4 of a tank. She is terrified of this SUV now and is not willing to drive it anymore. The dealer in Morehead City looked at it and stated there is no codes and the car appears to be fine. We are in dire need of a solution for this issue. PLEASE HELP.

Wondering if you have tried replacing the MAP sensor. I have seen this kind of intermittent problem happen with Pacifica's, which most of the time turned out to be a bad MAP sensor. It would shut down completely out of the blue while driving. Scary and dangerous as hell! Would start back up and could go for days or sometimes hours or minutes before it would die again. These are fairly cheap parts with the Pacifica's $25/$30, but don't know about the Aspen. Just something to consider if it hasn't been checked..

I have an 06 Paciifica with 3.5L engine that was doing the same thing intermittently.. I replaced the MAP sensor and that stopped the issue. Your oil and other lights may be coming on because the engine stopped running. I didn't have any codes either. It was just random shut down with no warning. Don't know if this will fix your problem but it worked for me. Good luck. If you try this and it works please let us know!
