Advice for potential buyer
I am considering purchasing a 2007-2009 Chrysler Aspen. I like the Aspen because it has a 3rd row seat, I'm a fan of the Dodge Durango and I like the better style in the Aspen. My question is, if you had the opportunity to buy an Aspen again, would you do it? What do you love/hate about your Aspen? In general, what advice do you have for a potential buyer?

Look around on this forum and you'll find several similar threads. I've had my Aspen since 2008 with very few issues. Advice:
1. Check for rust at the bottom of the doors at the seams. This is an issue that pops up from time to time.
2. The Hemi requires 30k spark plug changes --just FYI if you obtain maintenance records for the truck you're considering.
3. The gas mileage sucks. It's a very nice vehicle to have, but don't get it if you can't tolerate 11-19 mpg (city/highway, real world calcs based on driving one for 7 years)
4. The stock shocks are usually only good for 50k miles or so. It would be worth checking if they've been changed before you purchase, and negotiate for same.
Overall they are very reliable vehicles. I've had the rust on the door seams, a gas hiccup at fill up that was taken care of through a voluntary service campaign, and my alternator died at 85k miles. That's not an unreasonable list for 7 years of ownership.
