Default backup camera question

ok so i recently purchased my aspen and finally had a chance to wash it and i noticed it had a back up camera. My question is, if it has a camera in the back why doesn't it kick in when i put the truck in reverse? If anyone can shine some light please do. Thank you

so i figured out that my o7 aspen is missing a little screen for the back up camera. It turns out that mopar had an aftermarket back up camera installed. But i thought that the camera was for the navigation screen but its not

It sounds like there should be a wire somewhere that connected to a small screen. Either that or they installed one that used a small screen built in to the rear view mirror, and swapped it out with the OEM mirrror before trading it in. If the wire is up by the mirror, that could be the case.

Do you have the MyGIG screen? If so, you can buy lockpick, connect the wire to your stock MyGIG, and the reverse camera will work. You might even be able to skip the lockpick and just change the jumper settings on the back of your MyGIG unit - check the lockpick install instructions for details.
