Default Check Engine light came on help with the codes

I had the check engine light come on two days ago. Went to advanced had to borrow their reader and figure out how to use it since they "didn't go outside anymore" I don't blame them its Florida and about 110 degrees out.

I had two codes come up they were:

P3441 cylinder 6 deactivation/ intake valve control circuit open

P1521 Improper engine oil type

Any help on why these codes may have come up would be great.

I'm no mechanic but I can change a part or two so I need some help to see if these are serious or not.

I removed the engine light with the reader and it hasn't come back on so I guess thats good.

I bought the car 6 months ago and haven't done much to it. Except change the oil and filter and air filter. It had 110k on it then and I have put about 10k on it since then.

Not sure if it may be related but when I had the sunroof leak it soaked the junction block and I had to dry it out and when it was wet the car went haywire.

Thanks

ok hemi engine needs 5w 20 oil so some one has put teh wrong weight oil in last oil change.

P3441 cylinder 6 deactivation/ intake valve control circuit open
also a cause and or a result of wrong oil type.

I did the last oil change and used 5w20. I did switch to fully synthetic oil on the last change. I am close to the time to change it again.

I'm going to change the oil today.

Do you think the switch to synthetic may have something to do with it?

Would you recommend adding a bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer with the oil?
