Our Chrysler Aspen Limited 4x4 5.7L Hemi had 192K miles and is in very nice shape. Every now and then when driving in the neighborhood up and down hills and not really going over 25mph, the tranny will go into second gear and will not shift up or down while in Drive. I have to turn the ignition off and wait like 2 minutes and crank it back up and it will work normally again in Drive. Also if you manually select 2nd gear and take off and then select Drive again it will just stay in 2nd gear only. I again have to put in park, turn ignition off and let it set for a couple of minutes and crank it back up and if runs normal again in Drive. I have no warning light at all with this issue. I don't know if its a shifter select sensor/module or a solenoid pack in transmission. Seems like if it was a solenoid pack problem a warning/check engine light would come on. Just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this isssue before I talk to my mechanic.
