Water Leaks/ Electrical Gremlins. Who Else?
I don't use my 07 Aspen as much as I would like because of the water leaks and electrical gremlins. Bought new and with only 47k on it now, it is in the shop for the second time. There is standing water under the drivers foot pedals from the most recent rain. After the dealer "cleaned and repaired" the sun roof drains two times I am now being forced to pay $100 dollars for the dealerships water leak pro to come this Friday. Furthermore, because of this water leak, I have developed some headache electrical problems. At any given moment when driving or parked ALL electrical functions would crap out. Specifically, the radio, power windows, locks, brake lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, speedometer, tach, AC etc don't work. Also, every light on the dash cluster that there is, is lit up. Even the little squares around the gear selection which tells you whether your in park, reverse or drive. When I brought my Aspen in for these electrical problems (twice) they couldn't fix it. When diagnosed, there were to many codes to pin point the problem. On the second attempt the truck temporarily fixed itself and I was told to come back when it does it again. TO BE CONTINUED

Did you by it new with 0 miles? I would call Chrysler customer care and see if they will work with you on the water leak if it turns out to be a dash pull or something. Water just on the driver's side? Could be a grommet from a harness or cable that goes through the firewall. I know those drain leaks well. Aspens weren't the only ones.
The electrical issues sound like there is a problem with the TIPM. The thing under the hood that looks like a fuse box but is really a computer. It pretty much powers up everything in the car. I'm surprised they didn't at least do some sort of wiggle test and check the connectors and grounds.

Yes, bought new with approximately 7 miles on it. The water has leaked on both sides. The first time I noticed it was when I went to scrape the inch thick ice off the windshield and realized it was on the inside! To be continued. Work midnights and gotta go. Thanks for the feed back.

WOW!! Finally someone with the same problems as me lol. It is more frustrating than funny. I bought my 07 Aspen 4.7 (should've got the HEMI) back in Feb 07 with 8 mi on it. I'd say about 8-10 months later I noticed that my driver side floor would be soaked after it sat in the rain. It doesn't rain much in Cali thats why it took so long to notice. The dealer fixed it under warranty...there was a bend in the driver door which allowed the water to leak in. A few weeks later I noticed the light under the dash flickering, shrugged it off as nothing now all of my lights flicker...every f%&kin light on the truck. Headlights, dash, glovebox...I mean every light you can see. They never shut off tho. The radio did stop working once. Took it to autozone & they say it's the alternator. It had a few times where it wouldn't start now they say it's the battery. I 'm just going to change them both but I want to make sure it's not just loose connection somewhere.

I too had a water leak in my 08 Aspen, always under the passenger side floor mat. What I found (kind of hard to describe) was a rubber "dam" on the firewall was blocked. Open the hood and on the passenger side of the cowl is a screen for what I think is the air intake. Mine routinely filled up with water after a heavy rain or car wash. Look with a flashlight under the screen cowl area for the rubber drain. If you reach your hand (need skinny arms) under the screen area of the cowl and between the battery you will feel a round rubber ball-like dam (sorry, no pict, at work right now). If you squeeze the rubber ball-like dam it will open and all the accumulated water will drain from the screen cowl area. I had to pinch the rubber dam to allow it to remain open all the time and allow the water to drain. I'm still not sure how the water from this cowl area entered the passenger floor area but since I've pinched the rubber dam I don't have water under the passenger mat any more (over a year now). Hope this helps.

Maybe they can swap out the gnomes that live in your dash that are making your lights malfunction.

It came in through the HVAC box. It has a drain of it's own too, but can't handle that much water. So it backed up and cam out the floor vent probably

You seriously took your SUV Autozone for a diagnosis? Wow. But then to think you believed them when they told you you needed and alternator for a radio problem...double WOW!

The only water leak I've ever had on a car with or without a sunroof (I've had 4 with sunroofs) was on my Sport Trac, which was due to a **** poor seal on the rear third brake light...the water ended up in the electrical tracks on underneath the plastic door sills.
