That's a shame. The dealer is where you are supposed to be able to go and get rescued from problems. At least the one I work at is I figured the shuttering of all those dealers would bring all the good techs to the remaining ones. Apparently that has yet to occur.

I had 2 dealers in a 20mi radius from my house...the more reliable one was shut down. I'm wondering is this a 4.7L issue? (A few 4.7L dakotas had this same issue on another forum. Some say it was a battery issue, others say check the fuse box) I have the EVAC security system from the dealer & it locked up on me twice today (The engine shut off)..oh & all lights still flicker. Now sometimes it won't start on the first crank. Sometimes I wish a f%*kin tree would fall on this thing lol (I love my Aspen really) but in an '07 past warranty & now all the BS happens. Might trade it in for a new RAM HEMI

Go get that new loaded RAM. It's just as nice inside as the Aspen.

Well as of 07 Oct 2010,Chrysler finally figured out what was wrong with my Aspen & all the electrical headaches. Somehow the positive clamp to the battery terminal came loose & so did some of the wiring which caused the voltage to fluctuate do to an incomplete circuit. That put a big smile on my face as to now I'm not embarassed to drive my Aspen @ night. Maybe you should have them check all ground wiring in yours. Especially with the water leaking so close to the fuse box. Does your state have a lemon law? Hopefully your issues get resolved asap. Its serious when you can't drive in the rain. Mine leaked only when it sat in the rain for a while.
You should make them check every system on the vehicle. I was about to blow $400 on an alternator that I didn't even need.

good luck

Default update

Well, I'm done with this Chrysler P.O.S. Water leak #3 has arrived. This time I was told the roof seams were leaking. This happened at 48,000 miles and the last water repair was at 47,000 miles. This, I was told was the drivers door seal. Whatever! Sunroof drain tubes #1, door seals #2 and now roof seams. One or all of these leaks has also ruined my "junction box" I was told and shown. The mechanic pulled the fuse box plug apart right in front of me and we watched the water drip out of it. This caused all of my electrical problems and costs $700 to replace. The truck will be gone this week. Traded in for a non Chrysler Jeep product. Good bye Chrysler Aspen. Look out for a used black Aspen in N.J. Don't buy it!

I understand your frustration, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that there was only one leak all along, and your dealer didn't find it. Good luck with the new car.

Was your Aspen ever in an accident?

Default leak

Your absolutely right that there was probably only one leak they couldn't locate. No accidents. Looking at another Tahoe. I've always had good luck with them. Unfortunately, the Aspen is still in my driveway because I couldn't get the right price on the Tahoe. I will very soon though when the price is right.
