Default 04 Pacifica Oilpan

Does anyone know if there is a lot involved in changing the oilpan? My local Chrysler dealer stripped the drain bolt.
Thank You.

Here are some options:

1) New Oilpan= lotsa bolts, gasket removal, gasket replacement. $ parts+labor

2) oversized self-tapping plug is a tapered plug, but are prone to leaking if the original hole was badly stripped. Very easy to do, just make sure you do not over-torque!

3) helicoil works well if you re-tap it straight so the plug seats properly. Maybe practice tapping holes before you try this for the first time.

4) re-tap the hole and use a bigger plug. Also easy to do with a bit of practice

If the dealer stripped it make them change it for free! After all they're the cause of the problem.
