Default 06 Pacifica Aftermarket Radio/DVD with factory screen

Good afternoon. This is my first post, but have been a long time "lingerer". In any case, I have a pacifica that previously had the 6 disk changer with factory screen. I installed an aftermarket radio/DVD player in the dash. I was able to tap into the 12 pin connector that previously went to the DVD changer out to the factory screen to have video. The aftermarket radio has "dual zone" capabilites with "rear audio out". I can send audio up through the screen, but can't figure out how pin 3 "IR enable" works. This obviously tells the headphones to turn on when you push the remote; however, now that I removed the factory DVD changer and radio, I want to be able to "trigger" this. However, I put the factory radio back in for test purposes and when I push the headphones button, the headphones start working, but I don't get a positive signal nor a ground through that wire. So what type of signal is it sending to tell the IR transmitter to start transmitting the audio? Any help is appreciated as this is driving me crazy!
