07 4.0 hard start intermittent issue
Our Pac started having an intermittent hard start issue a few days ago, when it occurs it takes two or three attempts to get it started. Runs fine once started, no CEL is generated. Alldata has this TSB, has anyone performed this? I've had a few evap errors, I've just cleared them out assuming I just need to replace the gas cap. The hard start dose not correspond to the fuel level. Looks like the part is $250, not sure if I want to roll the dice on it.

No other TSB's found regarding the symptoms you described.
Below are some additon details on the TSB referenced above:
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle operator may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
· Mil Illumination for P0452 - Evap Pressure Switch Stuck Closed
· Hard to start. Most likely when fuel tank is full from a recent over fill event.
· No start. Most likely when fuel tank is full from recent over fill event.
These conditions can be caused by fuel that has accumulated in the evaporative lines:
· A liquid sump can trap negative pressure in the canister line even though the fuel
tank is vented. The ESIM switch may remain closed due to the blockage.
· Liquid fuel can be pulled into the purge valve and create a hard to start condition.
Installing this Fuel/Vapor Separator will ensure that no liquid will enter the purge valve and
the canister line will communicate properly to the fuel tank.

To be honest, No. I'm not sure because the TSB only states the following:
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH ) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTC's are
present other then the one listed above record them on the repair order and repair as
necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the vehicle operator describes or experiences the Symptom/Condition, perform the
Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
Qty. Part No. Description
1 68048869AA Separator, fuel/vapor
Kit includes the fuel/vapor separator, bolt and instruction sheet K6855658
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Follow instruction sheet, K6855658 (found in the kit) to install the fuel/vapor separator.
2. Connect wiTech to the vehicle.
3. Select PCM.
4. Select Systems Test tab.
5. Select and Run the “ESIM Forced Monitor Test. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Did the test pass?
a. Yes >>> Repair Complete.
b. No >> Further Diagnosis is required. Make sure all connections that were just made
are secure. Refer to the diagnostic procedures available in DealerCONNECT/TechCONNECT.
I cannot seem to locate instruction sheet K6855658 anywhere.
If I do find it, I will certainly post it here for you.
