Default 2004 Pacifica Entertainment and GPS system ?'s

Hi everyone, we just bought our first Pacifica yesterday.....2004, 110,000 miles....fully loaded AWD.

My question is about the DVD system. I have the overhead monitor and the 6-disc changer. I can load a disc into the changer but the screen will not come on and play the DVD....Does the radio control this? I ask because it has an Alpine CD player installed and I am assuming it is aftermarket. So before I go buy a stock radio from the junk yard, I wanted to make sure I needed to.

Also, how does one update the maps for the built in GPS? This car was a good deal, but came with no manuals at all! I found the owners manual online, but am still looking for the service manual.

Thanks for any help!
Justin

Hey Justin,

I am almost 100% sure that the 6 disc player and dvd monitor is controlled by the stock head unit.

To upgrade your GPS, you need to locate the gps dvd player (under cargo area in left rear of car). You need to get your hands on an updated disc, insert it, turn on ignition and follow on screen instructions.

Hope that helps.
