2006 Chrysler Pacifica TCU, Please help!!!
While driving to work my 2006 Pacifica 3.5L base model car went into "limp mode". I was able to get it to a mechanic. He said I needed to purchase a TCU. However, I can't find a listing for this anywhere.
1. Does this car actually have one? Or is this part of the PCM? ECM?
2. I've checked the transmission fluid and it's fine. The mechanic says I have an error code of P700.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking for 3 days including junk yards and have had no luck. I am unsure as to where to go for the needed information.

P0700 is a generic transmission code that triggers the check engine lamp. A more specific transmission code, P07xx is set in the TCM that will identify the issue detected. The mechanic should be able to pull the underlying trans diagnostic code.
Suggest NOT replacing parts until a more complete diagnosis can be done based on the specific transmission code.
Color and smell do not indicate the condition of the trans fluid per FCA/Chrysler. Possibly a transmission pan drop, filter replace, and refill with licensed atf+4 only may be beneficial as these transmission seem to respond well to fresh atf+4. No universal fluids and no additives.

Thank you so very much for your reply. I will have my mechanic do the things you mentioned. This has been a very frustrating situation. I have just 1 more question, do you know if the pacifica has a seperate TCU or is it pat of the PCM ECM ECU Engine Computer?
