I'm getting between 16-19 MPG around town. I may go days at a time with out getting on a freeway.

[sm=smiley31.gif][sm=smiley31.gif]11.1 mpg [:-]That's not good at all[&o]We drive conserativly (NOT FLOORING IT, EASY STARTS AND STOPS) and we have never had less than 19 mpgHowever, using E-10 fuel will lower the mpg and it's not good for your engine either.[sm=noooo.gif] Also 87 octane is the best choice, at least in our PAC that works best. 89 should be used for high altitudes or trailer hauling[sm=itsok.gif] I would suggest

you have a Chrysler dealer check it out as 11.1 mpg is way far off from what it should be[:'(][sm=signs006.gif].

We have gotten as high as 27 mpg and typical stop and go is 21 to 22 mpg. [sm=smiley31.gif]

We have 18,500 miles (+or-) and like it it a lot.[sm=happybounce.gif]

The owners manual for my '07 pac recommends 89 octane but says 87 is ok. We usually use 87 due to price but on trips I use 89.

indept: Does 89 make any difference? We tried 89 twice and the mpg was no better and the power was unremarkable. Look at your Owners manual and see on the back of the cover if you have the "First Edition". If you do the book was changed and you need to ask your selling dealer for the Second Edition. The newer edition reflects several changes, and more information on trailer hauling. The 4. L engine is also has updated information, along with the correct scheule A & B for service. I found out about it when I wanted information about a trailer hitch and there was conflicting information. Called the dealer and they ordered me the current 2nd edition.
I Believe the 3.8 L engine would have some noticable improvement with 89 octane gas, but we don's see anything it does for our PAC Touring AWD

Farout,
What was the effective date of the manual change?

I didn't notice any major change in performance with 89 octane or gas mileage either.

I am facing the same scenario with the same model vehicle (4.0L). The miles per gallon is not correct to what Chrysler has stated on it's sticker. But I do get better mileage from using the autostick vs auto drive. Not much more but a difference.

Calvary Kid. What you wrote is called PLAGERISM . When quoting someone elses words and attempting to make it appear as if this is your orignal work, it is stealing.[sm=guilty.gif] Just for your information this very same article was posted in Edmunds.com. A local Springfield MO. TV station disproved some of these statements, a few were true.
If you were a student, atmost universities, you would receive a F for the class grade or be expelled from the university, or at the very least put on probation. Please, if you are using material from a source other than yourself give credit where credit is due. This is especially true when the article is as long as this was.[sm=nothatway.gif]

indept: I looked at both Owners manuals, and the only thing that makes one different on the outside cover is First Edition and Second Edition. There is no printing date any where on the two. If you order one or get the dealer to order you one the newest one will come. Sorry I can't be of more help/ Our PAC was made on 12/12/06 if that helps at all.

Thanks Farout

It's interesting that they haven't updated the online downloadable owners manual @
http://www.chrysler.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html
It's the same version that I downloaded when I bought my Pac back in May '07

I average 19-20 mpg. Steady freeway in cruise control 70 mph I have yet to reach 22 mpg. I run 87 octane. The difference between87 and the price increase of higher octanedoes not weigh out any $ savings. I don't need the "extra power" of a higher octane.

I just installed a K & N air filter. I've kept track of mpg every fill up since I bought it so if any better mpg I should see it over the next 6-8 fill ups.
