2007 Pacifica Touring - mpg question?

RE: 2007 Pacifica Touring - mpg question?
awdtootall: I am not sure if you said what engine you have or what year your PAC is. As far as the mpg is you have the 3.5 L or 3.8 L with the 4 speed auto trans I would think you are doing good at 19 to 20 mpg. But, if you have the 4.L 6 speed set up then it should be better I think, at least our PAC does.
The 89 octain gas made positively no difference in our AWD PAC at all. On 87 it does great no ping and plenty of power, and better than we hoped for MPG. I was told the 89 octain was better when towing a trailer or high altitude driving. In Missouri our highest mountian is about 850 feet high, so there is no reason for that here either.
I would really like to know how the K & N filter does. I have heard it can help and other have said it did not help at all, so be our test person on this filter. If it works out better that along with me and perhaps others they might have some sales.
Hiw many miles on your PAC? Have you changed the air filter? Ours has just short of 24,000 and the air filter still looks good and WalMart has the air filter for just under $12.00, the dealer wants about $27.00 big difference! Well let us know how the K & N works for you.

RE: 2007 Pacifica Touring - mpg question?
I have an '06 with the 3.5 4 speed. I was hoping to match my Toyota Previa's mileage so am with in a 1-2 mpg. Much more power, quieter, classier..... so no complaints
I live in Seattle, so we have mountain passes. Don't pull anything large then a 400 lb motorcycle on a trailer or camping with a car full of kids, the trailer of gear and have seen no effect to power or detonation with a drop of 1 mpg.
I will post some results on the K & N. Have filled up (1/2 tank) only once and was 19.3 mpg (pulling m/c, no hills) with a little city driving.

RE: 2007 Pacifica Touring - mpg question?
Our (purchased new) 2007 Pacifica Limited 4.0L w/ 6 speed all wheel drive and 19" wheels and the Michelins with 37 psi. Driving it like an egg is taped to accelerator pedal in around town driving max mpg is 13.2 with 6500 miles on car. Comment from dealer when discussing mpg was that the Aspen SUV only gets 9 mpg .... I am a territory manager for a Detroit Diesel/ Mercedes distributor and fully know how to get the best mpg from a vehicle, but this one is blowing my mind.
