Default Chrysler 2005 AC will not turn on

First discovered this problem about 2 months ago. I drove to a local hardware store, with AC and recirculate on, less than a mile away, turned of the vehicle, and was gone for no more than 5 minutes. Got back into the car, started the engine, and proceeded to turn on the AC. AC lights were on but no air. Drove off and still nothing. Kept attempting to turn it on but no luck. Finally I arrived home and then turned off the engine. Waited a few minutes, started the car again, turned on the AC and it finally worked. I thought it was one time occurence but about 3 weeks ago it did it again to my wife (9 months pregnant) and the AC would finally start (after turning it off and on) about 30 minutes into the drive. Took it for service at Sears and they checked everything (minus electrical) and weren't able to recreate the problem. Compressor is good and overall AC system is good so they suggested I take it to the dealer. The problem with taking it to the dealer is that I am out 1K everytime I take it in. Please help!! I am desperate!

Anything you can suggest I can check to rule anything out? I've been reading about the blower resistor causing problems. Perhaps I can check that?

are we talking about the cold air not working or are we talking about a air flow fan issue?

No air at all. The lights on the AC controls are all on. I turn the fan speed **** and no airflow. What I have noticed is if I had set to recirculate the previous time used, it stays on. I've always noticed it disengages when I turn the AC off.

As I stated before, you keep trying for about 5 - 10 minutes the AC will eventually start.

its either a fan or a blower motor resistor u confuse every one when u say stuff like this "Compressor is good and overall AC system is good" That has nothing to do wit the fan working or not

Thanks. Didn't mean to cause confusion. I was just stating what the tech at Sears told me. What's the best way to test the blower?
