Dead Car Key Battery?
Hi everyone. I'm new to this site. I own a 2005 Pacifica bought in 2006. So far the car has been great!!! So onto my story.....
My wife called and said her Pacifica was acting up. Yeh I bought it, she owns it. When she went to get into the car the key "button" wasn't working right so she unlocked the car door manually. When she started the car the dashboard wouldn't light up, the lights headlights came on without the switch and the A/C quit blowing. I came by and used my key to "unlock" the car and everything seemed to work ok. The headlights worked with the switch, the dashboard lit up, the A/C worked but the check engine light stayed on. So I disconnected the battery and let it sit for 10 minutes and now everything is normal.
Whew....... question is, do I need to look for anything else or was it a glitch due to her having a dead key battery?
Thanks abunch in advance. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say...

Did the vehicle shut-off shortly after she started it? It sounds similar to what has happened on a couple of occassions with my wifeys key (our keys are less than a year old). Also, the red VTSS(security) light illuminates solid.

She didn't say if it shut off or not. Just that her battery on the key was dead. And the red security light stayed on the whole time it was acting up. When I used my key and turned the car on and off again 3 times it returned to normal. Except the check engine light stayed on.
After removing the cable from the battery for 10 minutes everything is working normally again, so I guess I won this round...... otherwise a flawless car!
