Exclamation Fog lights will not turn on

Hey all,

Just added the fog light kit to my 2005 Pacifica.

I bought an auto-dimming rear view mirror, the factory foglight kit, and a auto-headlight/foglight switch.

I installed the rear-view mirror, the lights and the stalk myself. I let my local dealer install the wiring harness cause I didn't like messing with the fuse box under the hood.

The auto-dim mirror and auto-headlights work just fine. However when I pull on the **** to turn on the foglights, they will not illuminate.

The green light on the dashboard turns on, but the front foglights do not.

Any thoughts?

I would think the dealer would have checked them after doing the wiring.

Return unhappy and ask them to come outside and check the lights.

Turns out the tech that installed the harness failed to make sure the wiring harness was actually grounded...

Should have thought of this myself.... However since the ground is under the fuse box I would never have checked it myself anyway.

Where did you get the auto-headlight/foglight switch from? I am looking to do this as well on mine. I did order the foglight kit and auto dim mirror. Wasn't sure if the foglight kit has the auto switch.
Thanks.

I bought mine on e-bay. You may be able to order one from a dealer, but be prepared to jump through hoops to get one.

My local dealer still insists on looking up part for my Pacifica by first entering the VIN in the parts search. Then wonders why part numbers for non-factory installed equipment doesn't show up.

EDIT: Here is the listing I purchased from on ebay - You might call the phone number in the listing and ask if they have any more in stock.

EDIT AGAIN: Here is a current listing - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...item3f00dc50ab

Cool. That's exactly what I've been trying to find. The switch included in the foglight kit doesn't have the auto feature does it?

The kit I received did not have the auto headlight option included on the stalk.

From what I understand, if your Pacifica came from the factory with a dimming mirror, it also had fog lights as part of the package. So they assume if you are getting add on fog lights, you don't have the dimming mirror in the first place.

Hope that makes sense...
