Default Navigation screen rotates

I have a 2006 Pacifica Limited that has a problem with the navigation screen in that it sometimes loses it's mind and doesn't know which direction it's going. It usually ocurs when we are being given turn by turn direction and we take an alternate route forcing the nav system to recalculate the route. Sometimes it'll do it without navigating to a location but just in map mode. Any ideas? Anyone with similar problems? The car electronics works fine otherwise.

Please help.

If it's just the map mode you can try checking the navi dvd located in the back. Make sure thats working right. But thats just an idea!..

Default Navigation rotating screen.

I think it is just another "feature" of the pacifica. I notice that it loses itself when you are travelling with streets close to one another it doesn't know which street you're on. Also, I don't think the gyroscope works that well. It doesn't always know that you just turned onto another street. It'll have me travelling straight down the original road even after I have already turned. I hear the Pacifica uses an Alpine unit. Funny, since my Honda also has an Alpine unit and it works flawlessly.
