Default Navigation update procedure?

Hi, I got myself an update AI dvd from Navteq to replace my outdated AE dvd on my 07 Limited, unfortunately I can't find the manual. I Think there is something I need to do before sliding in the new dvd but can't quite remember. Any one has the procedure that could help me?

Thanks in advance,
Simon

it should be pretty much self explanatory this is not a chrysler system its made by some one else. If there was anything special u needed to do it would come with the dvd.

Hi,

On my '05 I just ejected the old, and loaded the new. I don't think that you want the Nav. system running when you do it, but other than that....

Don't be alarmed at a slow "boot up" the first time after loading a new disc.

Thanks Folks!

I did load the new disc and it took about 1 min for the update disc to boot up! The POI seems more up to date otherwise everything else seems to be the same so far. This update just came out 2 months ago from Navteq. I guess now I might sell my older DVD AE on Ebay unless someone is interested, just let me know.

Glad it worked out well. I looked at my NAV manual today and unlike what I suggested it actually says to turn the key on, push the NAV button so that the display is on, then go R&R the disk, and watch the display for the progress bar.

I just turned the key on, ejected the disk, inserted the new one and press Nav. The progress bar came on for about a minute or so.

Default is it the disk or the system

My system keeps jamming, it seems to work ok with phone numbers but it sticks when putting in street names or choosing from the street list. Then it says disk error, eject and reset. Chrysler says its a bad disk its 05064033ac and that I should buy a new one which is over $200. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it was the disk or the system. Thanks for your help

Hi,

I have not had the problem you describe, but before you look at replacing it, why not carefully clean it? Here are some pointers.

Good luck. If you think you must replace it, Ebay has all the versions available.
