Need some help.......
this is the first time i have had any kind of issue with my pacifica,
My wife was complaining about her gas peddle sticking on her, I know enough about this car that is was most likely build up in the throttle body and causing the throttle body flapper(lack of a better word) to stick.
so i took the air box out so i could get to the flapper in the throttle body, the air box side to the flapper was clean, but as soon as i opened up the flapper in the throttle body i noticed their was ALOT of black looking soot inside the throttle body and inside the intake (or whater its called, the part the throttle body is attached to)
this car has been using alittle oil between oil changed and i know its not dripping anywhere. Do you guys think the black soot im seeing is from oil getting into the intake and mixing with the gas somhow?
any idea what i need to do to get it fixed?
the car is an 2006 with an 3.5 engine
thanks for any help

throttle body has been cleaned and it works perfect now......i was more concerned about all the black carbon that is inside(maybe part of the intake) where the throttle body bolts on. I will buy a PCV valve and see if that helps.

It's on the back side valve cover. Might be a little hard to get to.. maybe easier with intake manifold off. If you have near a 100k miles, then the spark plugs can be changed since you have the manifold off. Maybe with the decorative cover off you will have better access.
For the valve, it can be difficult get off if the rubber seal is brittle. A new seal is probably a good idea so that it is easier to set the new valve. You have to make sure the valve is seated/popped in correctly. Some think they have it in only to find out later that it has come out or is not sealing well.

car has 70000 miles on it, should i go ahead and change the plugs since im going to be right there anyway?
OEM plugs or something different (ex NKG?)

u wont be right there u would need to remove the intake inorder to get to them out wait until 100k and only put back champion plugs that cam out. Under the hood there will be a white sticker that will tell u what kinda plugs that need to go in an auto parts store can also look them up being the same part number and the gap is also there.
