new pacifica owner, a few questions/problems
Hello, I look forward to using these forums as a new 2004 pacifica owner.
I have a couple questions for all of you if you can help.
1. Is there any known issues with battery drainage on these? I had our car in the driveway cleaning it for a couple hours and the battery completely died. Not sure if this is an issue or something that is just normal for this car.
2. The manual lock/unlock button on the drivers door seems to be hanging loose in the unlock position. The door will lock using that electronic lock button but the manual switch seems broke from the inside. Does the switch just pull right off if I want to replace it?
3. Anyone know of a place i can buy a AWD badge for the back of the car? mine is worn and it irritates me :-)

I've seen the badges on the MOPAR site...they pictured a generic list of Chyrsler/Dodge badges. I'm looking for the winged badge at the grille. I need to replace them. The grille is easy enough to find but I can't locate the wings.

#1: I have had bad battery experiences with the '04. I've basically had to replace the battery every 12-18 months. I now view it as an ongoing cost of ownership. I've never been able to nail down the root cause.
A couple of hours seems quick to me though. Assuming the battery is healthy (have it checked for free at an auto parts store), you could check for shorts. Hook up an ammeter in series (not parallel) with the battery connection. Check for the current draw. You can isolate the area by removing fuses/relays one-by-one.

I've had my 08 Pac for only a short time, and it appears my battery is failing. Not like yours -- suddenly dead -- but just cranking slower and slower. Can't offer anything but sympathy. I hope this isn't going to be a continuous problem.
