Default Is it possible to disable the lock-up torque converter?

Until the dealer makes a decision about replacing the torque converter, again, is it possible to disable the "lock-up" feature? I thought maybe there was a fuse, relay, or pigtail I could just unplug until I get her serviced. I know that the fuel mileage will suffer buy I need driveability. I miss my old Suburban...

if i am correct it is impossible to disable it because the lock-up works by mechanical means, not electronic.

I was afraid of that. It seems like GM had a car a couple of years back that had TC issues, and mechanics were just unhooking them until they got them fixed. Olds Ciera maybe, or the Lumina? Anyways, my local dealer isn't gonna step up this time I don't think...
