Default Possible New Pacifica Owner, have questions

Hi guys first time possible Chrysler owner first post ,

I'm looking to buy a 2006 Pacifica that has 26,752 miles. Black with black leather loaded.

Could you please tell me the Pro's and Con's on the Pacifica? Also what do i need to look for in problem areas and common fixes and break downs.
Are they known for bad transmissions?

Thanks for your Help!

Todd

well u will run into potential problems. My dad bought 1 recently and the motor mounts were bad. I did some research and maaaaany people was complaining about that same thing. Also, if that happens to b your problem, u will definitely have a hard to jus to get a new motor mount because they are on backorder.

Thanks,

I decided not to buy it. I also found that the transmissions are less than desirable to.

But hey...every car manufacturer has problem areas.

Just glad I didn't drop all that money just to be fixing it the whole time I owned it!

Todd.

Todd, Not sure how well you researched it. Based on this post, does not sound like you got much info. I had an 04 with a stellar transmission. I think there were issues when they went to the 6speed (07?) torque converter problem. But I am not sure if it was a huge problem or not.

the 4 speed is used in these vehicles
Applications:

* 1989-1993 Chrysler New Yorker
* 1989-1995 Chrysler LeBaron
* 1989-present Dodge Caravan
* 1989-1993 Dodge Daytona
* 1989-1993 Dodge Dynasty
* 1989-1994 Dodge Shadow
* 1989-1994 Plymouth Sundance
* 1989-1994 Dodge Spirit
* 1989-1994 Plymouth Acclaim
* 1989-2000 Plymouth Voyager
* 1990-1993 Chrysler Imperial
* 1990-1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue
* 1990-present Chrysler Town and Country
* 1992-1994 Plymouth Duster
* 1995-2000 Chrysler Cirrus
* 1995-2006 Chrysler Sebring
* 1995-2000 Dodge Avenger
* 1995-2006 Dodge Stratus
* 1996-2000 Plymouth Breeze
* 2000-2003 Chrysler Voyager
* 2001-present Chrysler PT Cruiser
* 2002-2005 Dodge Neon
* 2004-2008 Chrysler Pacifica
* 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Non-turbo

The 6speeds ere used in these
Applications:

* 2007-2008 Chrysler Pacifica
* 2007-present Chrysler Sebring
* 2008-present Dodge Avenger
* 2008-present Chrysler Town and Country
* 2008-present Dodge Grand Caravan
* 2009-present Volkswagen Routan
* 2009-present Dodge Journey

Have a look here and see what they say for each under (transmissions 42TE and 62TE)

We have a 2007 PAC Touring with the 4.0 and six speed. Yes, there is a problem with the tranny and fixed by replacing the tourque converter. I would recommend buying 2007 or later.
