Default Rear Carrier '06 Pacifica Replacement

I got a replacement carrier today. I'm still working on getting the old one out. Question on getting the axle's out... I used a pry bar to pry out the axle from the carrier. Problem is they wont come out far enoughto drop down. How do I get the rear axle to move so I can get the old one out? And I'm sure I'll see when I get them out, but, what holds the axle in the carrier and how easy is it to get the axle's back in the new carrier?

Thanks for the help.

This is not a fun job.

Have you removed the rear wheel/hub from any A arms or other suspension componets that would interfer with the removal of axle from differential?

There are 5 or so bolts that hold everything on. There is a cv by the carrier and on the other end of the axle. I don't see a way to get them pulled out enough without taking apart all of the suspension. There has to be another way. I know they make it tough to work on, but not this tough.
