I am guessing the AC is over charged. It is easy to overcharge an R134 system. I have not had to work with my Pac system yet, but my smaller Honda vehicle only has a +/- 1.7 ounce window in its specified freon charge quantity. That's just over 1/10th of a can, or 10% of specified quantity. Your best bet is a professional assessment. If the system is sound, they can evacuate it, vacuum it down and meter in a proper charge by weight.

If I am off track, and the system is properly charged, I would guess your cooling fans are not operating.

Good luck with it. Please post back how it works out.

I would check your codes , you may have knocked off one of your sensors on your intake it is rite next to the condenser. turn the key on to exs. then turn it to on three times if there are any codes they will show up . hope this helps..

Default A/C

Hi

Thank you both for responding. The overheating was caused by a radiator hose that came loose..however the A/C still wasn't working right. My husband ended up bleeding the line and making sure it was at the correct pressure. Unfortunately we had a bigger problem than that..our AC compressor blew and fried the serpentine belt in the process. It worked for a couple days. .then it just went the other day while I was at a stop light. We cant afford to get it fixed right now..and there doesn't appear to be anyway to bypass the AC on our car..not the best week for us. Any recommendations? Thanks!
