Ringing/Whine from engine
Hey all, this has happened for a while now, but in Park, when I push on the pedal just a little, the engine revs up normally and around 2k rpm and up theres a steady, faint little ringing sound, almost like if i was spinning a washer on a metal pencil.
When I let off the pedal, the engine goes back to idle and the ringing stops. When driving, when I slap it into 4th gear (at around 60 mph) and push the engine a little harder (still in 4th) at around 4k I can hear it in the background, but after I let off and before it shifts, it stops.
Any ideas what it is? not a chirp or squeak like a belt problem, and not a nasally whine like an alternator problem. Runs fine, just annoying...
Thanks!
