Default Stereo Amp / Subwoofer Question

I recently purchased a 2005 Pacifica Touring. It has the 200W, 7 speaker stereo system. I have read several posts on different places about upgrading to the 385W, 8 speaker system by finding the 385W amp (online or at a salvage yard) and installing the subwoofer in the right rear panel area.

Has anyone done this? How noticeable is the difference with the different Amp / subwoofer?

Soxfan.. I know it has been done. Have you searched here and on pacificaworld.com? Might want to search on 385 and or amp.

I plan to do this to my 2006 as well, but I have not found any used parts. The dealer is expensive. Amp $222.22, Sub $61.44, Enclosure $204.44. These prices are 31% off list.

Thanks... I called a dealer about the parts and found the same thing - too expensive. Hoping at some point I can find them at a salvage yard...
