Default Transmission Service

I have 72k miles on the car and I took it in for an oil change to find out that I have a shift solenoid leaking. Also I am due for a trans service. I want to chagne the fluid out and was wondering if anyone knows when they replace the shift solenoid with the have to drain the pan and replace the fluid? If not should I have a flush done on the trans ot just drop the pan and change the filter and oil in the pan? Its not shifting rough or anything, just thinking preventative maintenance.

Thanks
Bob

OK thanks. Any idea how many quarts I will need to replace the fluid lost when I drop the pan? Also what brand of filter should I buy? And do they usually come with gaskets or use RTV?

Thanks
Bob
