I usually do my own work on all my cars so the only thing I would need a warranty for would be the big ticket items. Kinda like this piece of crap torque converter that I'm babying. Trust me, if B&M made a converter for this thing then it would be here yesterday.

Default Extended Warranty

After doing extensive research I settled on a Chrysler factory warranty and purchased it through www.chryslerwarrantys.com. They were very willing to match other prices that I found on the web. I paid $1,100 for a 7yr/70k for my 06 Pacifica (which currently has 26k miles), and as a promotion they threw in a $250 Garmin portable GPS.

I had the same concerns of buying a Chrysler warranty but found out that a warranty is like an insurance policy and the manufacturer has to pay into a reserve fund. In the event of bankruptcy, a third party will take over and honor claims.

As far as US Fidelis is concerned, I would stay as far away from them as possible. Just do a Google search on "US Fidelis scam" or "US Fidelis ripoff" and you will get hundreds of hits. The BBB gives this outfit an "F". It seems they like to issue policies but not pay off on them.

I would do what others have suggested here. Pay a visit to your local dealer and ask the service manager who he recommends. He or she will know who they deal with often and how their payment history is.

I'm gonna talk to the guys at my dealer when I get over that way on Monday. I'll keep this posted. 400kid was right about all the complaints against usfedelis.
