Default 2001 SPARK PLUG WIRES NOT FIRING

[]ok, my husband replaced the head gasket and etc. in my cruiser (2.4L) The timing is definately right. Believe me, and it still wouldn't start. We have analyzed it a couple of times and correccted a few minor things and this is where we are now.
When you turn the key the motor does try to turn over and you can hear the fuel pump come on and off but it is not firing from the spark plug wire so therefore the coil pack is not firing. We have replaced the cam position sensor and eliminated one of the codes earler.
But it still seems that something is not communicating to something to tell it to fire. Any suggestions would be VERY APPRECIATED< PLEASE[:-]. I have had this car for 4 months and it has been on jacks about 3 of those months. He is going nuts or he is going to blow it up!

Make sure you have not mixed up the coil plug with the TPS plug. Both can be plugged into each other socket.

Actually I just signed on here to say we fixed it. I'm not sure what the TPS is but on another forum the guy said the coil pak plug and the cam shaft sensor plug were the same and they had been interchanged. My husband sswitched them and she cranked right up. Thank yall for your help, keep up the good work. And could you tell me what the TPS is for future reference. Thanks

[&:]I am not feeling much love toward my cruiser today!

So please don't go anywhere yet, we may still need your VERY APPRECIATED ADVICE.We switched the coil pack and cam position sensor plugs and she cranked right up. We let her idle for a while and at one point she quit and threw out codes p0320 and 0340. But then she cranked right back up and throughout the day as we drove her the engine light finally went out, she relearned the alarm system after a while and then the radio stations and everything was working las night. She ran consistently awesome yeaterday, better than ever. We checked all her fluids and top off a couple and that was itlThis mornig I excitedly cranked her up and first of all engine lite was back on, then about 3 miles down she just quit. I pulled the same 320 and 340 codes and p1684 (battery disc. in last 50 starts). DUH. anyway she cranked right back up and drove beautifully all the way to work, (about 10 miles) Then this afternoon she did something totally diff. I had just goen a block and all of a sudden I'm giving her gas and she is going no where, like neutral. finally she goes I park and ck transmission fluid, oil, water, all fine. pull codesP1684, 0320, 0340, and a new one 1391 intermitten loss of CMO or CKP. The camshaft pos sensor and crankshaft pos sensor are both NEW. She did recrank and I made it home, but every time I stopped she didn't want to go, but once it kicked in it would do fine. Sorry this is so long, the only way I know to give a clear picture. Please don't leave me now?

Also is the TPS the same as the camshaft position sensor?

Thanks in advance and Bless you>>>>
