03' Air Bag Light On
#3
Search the forums my friend, there are many posts about airbag lights coming on and various things to check that are the easy ones.
Unfortunately though the only sure way is to get the SRS code scanned which isn't easy or cheap.
As I just mentioned on another post though, clearing the light is easier, if you find and fix the fault, at next ignition on the light will go out, so you don't need to take it to dealership to get the light put out again after the fix.
I'd say first port of call, check the seatbelt pre-tensioners (check that both seat belt insertion points are the same height, if one is lower then it's probably fired), then check the cable spaghetti mess under the seats, the connectors there can sometimes go loose and cause the fault.
After that it's onto the more complex things so better to get it scanned to work out where to focus on.

About 4 days ago i sprayed silicone on the driver's seat belt female connector becaused it was hard to connect and disconnect the seat belt which helped a lot.
Is it possible that is why the light came on 4 days later?

Hi Rangr90,
That's a possibility, when you say silicone, was it silicone grease spray and a conductive/non-conductive variety?
Inside the seat-belt receptacle there is a sensor to detect if the belt is fastened (it'll also illuminate the dash light if the seat sensor detects somebody sat in the seat but without doing the belt up. Does that light illuminate when it should?) and it is possible that the spray inside has caused a fault to show up.
If you have one, perhaps try an air can to blast inside it, or try and dry it up a little, it might just save an expensive trip to the garage for you!
