'07 Town & Country Gone...
Well folks, after all the work I put into our '07 T&C Touring, I finally decided to trade her in yesterday afternoon. I honestly didn't think I would be leaving the dealer with something else but they gave me an offer I couldn't refuse.
I just got tired of the oil consumption...constantly checking the oil, and having to buy up to 5-6 quarts in between oil changes. They gave me $7,534 for it which is pretty decent. It had a new radiator, new belts, new hoses, new alternator, new anti-lock brake sensor cables, & new tires. The only thing I didn't change (which I was about to) was the headlights, which were both faded and full of condensation. Other than that she was purring at 101,800 miles. I believe the dealer took a hit on the T&C to get a sale. I thank God all our travels with her were safe, and I felt a little sadness as I drove away watching it parked at the dealer. I wanted to thank everyone here for all the help and advice. I couldn't have done many of the projects without it.

In 2013 I sold my first Grand Voyager after owning it for 9 years from new. I thought I no longer needed a big car so got rid of it and bought a BMW. Biggest mistake I ever made. So 6 months later I sold the BMW and bought another Voyager

Indeed AlanC, BMWs are not all they are cracked up to be. Certainly they perform, certainly nicely engineered, but like Jaguar, just wait until something goes wrong and you need spare parts and specialized labor -- and see the rip-off procedure start up. A friend of mine had a 528i which had a cracked block, not unusual for that model. My Jag. S-type diesel developed a serious engine fault (I think a blown piezoelectric injector tip) which I promptly traded in for the GV. Sure, the GV has been at times annoying, but it's certainly got the basics right, and it can shift if you want it to with its 2.8 diesel, plenty of oomph for town travel. And now diesel is a bit cheaper, the fuel consumption becomes that less important.
Not bad, Chrysler, not bad. But then how much of it is really Mercedes?
Leedsman.

I think the dealers are hurting right now because I've seen some incredible deals. I've some friends living in Virginia and they just traded their old Ranger in against a Chevy Spark for their daughter and they got way over the market value. But I agree with Vmaxxer, I don't know how I'd mange without the space. So right now I think the only thing that would get me out of my GV would be something larger like a full size truck, though admittedly, I have been to look at an F350 dually today but it was just overpriced.

I might jump to a 6 gear auto ltd version when the price drops to state pension money, an Escalade would be nice but they don't make proper engines for it yet, and then there's the Motori 3.0 liter V6 ............... ahhhhhhhhh ! dreams are made of this stuff.
