Exclamation 1987 Plymouth Voyager No start after timing cover gasket replaced.

My moms van was overheating and I could see coolant spraying out between the timing cover and block. The engine is a 2.6L carbed Mitsubishi. I replaced the timing cover gasket, oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket since you have to take the engine half way apart. Anyways after I was done I got in the van and went to start it. It cranked and popped off twice but now I can't get it to pop off for anything. There's no leaks. It has spark, compression and fuel. All I get is it turning over. I did not change the timing chain and I know it didn't slip a tooth. I'm at wits end. What do you suggest?

I'm not familiar with this engine but doubt coolant should be leaking out of the timing cover unless the water pump has gone or the head is leaking. Does this engine have a cam/crank sensor or something similar? If so check these.
