1996 T&C trans problem
Hello I am new to this forum and thought I would see what all of you have to say.
I have a 1996 chrysler T&C LXI with a 3.8L. When I have the gear selector in "D" and slowing for a stop the transmission makes a hard bang, or hard down shift. If I drive in 3RD and slow to a stopit does not have the hard bang, or hard down shift. The trans fluid is in good shape and there are no trouble codes. Also it only does this when the vehicale is at opperating temp. The selector lights all seem normal, as in no fault.I would like to say thanks in advance for all your hard efforts.

3 thingsI would try/check:
1. Could be that the solenoid pack is sticking which would require some transX and then a fluid change
2. Disconnect the battery and let the computer relaern your shift pattern
3. Check the motor mounts. often the clunk is the normal downshift but it is magnified by a broken motormount. You can check this by monioring the movement of the engine while shifing from revers to drive and back.
P.S.I would probably do these in the reverse order of what i wrote.
