1999 Grand Voyager(EU) 2.5Td, Power loss after 2000rpm

yes did wonder if my spare was faulty, i did read one of your other posts where you specify a range the ohms reading could be within, so was not sure if the above 93 ohms was 100% accurate. i guess its close to impossible to repair them?

If you are in or near the Surrey region I have a spare one with a working sensor. I would offer to sell it to you but I recently rebuilt it with a new nozzle. Although I have pop tested it and set the pressure to the correct 150bar I have not yet had a chance to test run it and don't like selling things if I am not 100% sure of them as I HATE it when people do that to me.
However you would be more than welcome to bring your car to me, fit it and then if sure that the injector is not leaking then you can make me an offer. It certainly was not leaking on the pop tester BUT of course on the bench I cannot simulate the heat of a running engine.
I do have a brand new one but want to keep that for myself for obvious reasons or at least until I sell the car.

They were used in the late 80's early 90's Range Rovers but were 2.4TD (exact same engine though)
Ford Scorpio 2.5TD (probably the best place to look for a cheap injector)
Alfa Romeo 155 & 164 2.5TD
Jeep Cherokee 2.5TD
The old london Taxi's
and many more
The engine is a VM Motori VM425
In fact this engine even formed the foundation for the newer generation voyagers BUT they use a different injection system as they are OHC CRD

thanks for the offer of letting me try your rebuilt injector first. i have just moved from surrey and am in S Wales now so bit to much of a trek with car running so badly, found one in Somerset 1.5 hours away, down M5. bit concerned taking it on motorway, will the knackered injector damage engine, i presume its putting the injection timing out a bit.

It will run but just in limp home mode. I drove mine over 200 miles to get home once when my first injector blew. Just be prepared to stay in the slow lane because whilst you will be able to get over 2000 rpm, doing so will be a slow process and overtaking anything will be cause for concern. Take your test meter and make sure the sensor is fine first.

never went to Somerset in the end, the breakers yard that said they had injector for 40 quid at 9am had apparently sold it by lunch time when i called them to see what time they shut. and i don't think the Range Rover i found on ebay is the same, looks same but opens at slightly higher pressure and has different Bosch part number i realise now. Bit of a shame because i have another spare injector at my overseas place, might be cheaper to fly there and get it, looking at the price these things go for.

don't be disheartened, they do come up. I bought two brand new ones from a Ford dealer on ebay. First one cost me £75 the second he let me have at £65 for return business. They were clearing out old stock. They were from a Ford Scorpio but all I had to do was cut off the Ford plug and solder on mine. Has been in there for over a year now and still rocking and rolling. So long as the code on the injector matches. Should say KCA17S70 with a pressure of 150Bar. Chrysler want over £700 for them ?????????Bastards give Dick Turpin a bad name.
