Default 2.8 CRD Timing belt alignment tools

I will be changing the cambelt and waterpump in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if anybody in the UK has a set of locking pins that they were willing to rent to me?

If no one has one, I have found the Sealey locking pin set for £50, will buy it and will be willing to loan it out to other members.

Cheers

There is a big write up on renewal of Timing Belt on here, from garage prices, to kits, to doing the job. Go through the threads or someone will come on and direct you.

I've got no problems with carrying out the work having done cambelts on numerous vehicles. It's just the cost of buying the locking pins for a job that I will probably only do once.

One other thing. As I am changing the waterpump I have to take the rear case off. I was just going to lock the cams together with vice grips while I torque the bolts up. Would this be ok as I have used this technique on other cars.

Cheers

If there is anyone in the Cardiff area that wants to give me a hand to do mine with me. Beer tokens and Snap-on tech angle torque wrench waiting. I bought the timing gear tools in my last post...
