2001 T&C radio/CD volume problem
My wife drives our 2001 T&C and has complained about an intermittent problem with the radio/CD player volume. Occasionally, while she's listening to the radio or to a CD, the volume will suddenly start climbing on its own until she hits the OFF button. She says turning the **** doesn't help at all. Even after she turns if OFF and back ON, the volume stays loud until she kills the engine and lets the van sit for a while.
I only drive the van on weekends, but I've never been able to reproduce the problem. The previous owners warned us about it, and thought something was wrong with the controls on the back of the steering wheel. They said that pressing one of the buttons on the steering wheel would cause the radio to behave strangely the next day. Janet doesn't think she's touched those buttons, but she's not sure.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas or advice is welcome!
Thanks in advance!
