Default 2002 grandvoyager auto transmission issues

can anyone please help we have only owned our 02 grandvoyager about 2 months and have been very impressed with the car overall.
until friday evening we packed the car up ready for a week away in cornwall. and off we went, we got only a few miles into the journey when the car refused to change up into 4th gear. i stopped the car and restarted it pulled away which was sluggish and the cae appears to pull away in third gear and will not change up or down at all. i checked the level of the fluid which was a little low so topped it up to no avail.the car is now seemingly stuck in third gear is this a common fault, i know little abou these cars. would appreciate any help at all.

well...Its actually of little concern, But it is Stck in SECOND GEAR, which is Trans controller Default......

I assume the check engine lamp is staring back at you, and You have had the codes read ...havent you?????

if the trans is stuck in "LIMP HOME" mode...there WILL be a Trouble code stored. Get us the code, and we'll work from there.

Check power and ground to the TCM, (Includig Supply From EATX relay) . If all is good replace TCM....

I dont think the euro cars are different, So you should find TCM in the drivers side fenderwell. Remove the plastic from the inner fender and it will be visible in front of the wheel..

EATX is in the underhood fuse box.

hi again
checked the eatx relay and thats all good.
just need to confirm the location of the TCM
is it in front of the passenger side wheel (right hand drive car uk)
does it have a large plastic plug going in held in place with a 10mm nut.

if this is the item there doesnt look to be any trace of a part number left on it. ???

Yeah it's in the passenger side of a UK car. That big plug that you mention is the TCM 60 way connector, so you've definately found the TCM.

Remember if you get a new or replacement TCM it must have a pinion factor and quick learn procedure carried out by a dealer.
