Default 2005 T&C Rust Question

I have a 2005 T&C that we bought new. It's just 10 yrs old and has about 96,000 miles. We have had a rust patch on the rear quarter, front of wheel well, for about 5 yrs. In the last year it has started to grow from the size of a half dollar to the size of ~ 4" x 7" and yesterday to my touch, my finger went through it. Is this vehicle subject to 10/100K warranty for rust? And if so, why did the dealer quote me almost $900 to fix it almost 3 yrs ago.

You knew about a rust problem and did nothing about it? For five years?
Oh dear...

It was small and not growing. And we were thinking of getting a new vehicle anyway. Financial plans suddenly changed everything. Life happened.

Rust damage in your country is currently at 276 billion dollars a year, rust stopper @ about $20 a go for a good grade, do it now my friend or it will cost you a lot more after next winter. Like an iceberg, the bit you see through the tight paint is tiny - the big bit is the cancer growing on the side of the metal you can't see. Best of luck.
