2006 GV 3.3 V6 vs 2009 GV 2.8 CRD
Hi to all
I have a very nice 2006 Chrysler Grand Voyager Limited stow n go 3.3 V6 auto, I am looking to part ex it for a 2009 Chrysler Grand Voyager Limited stow n go 2.8 CRD auto.
I am after peoples honest views, my only worry is, I can not find a workshop manual that covers the diesel engine? do they have cam (Timing) Belt? if yes, when does it need changing?
Thanks
Jason

I too have been looking at the 2.8's now that my 3.3 is on its last legs. However, I've been unable to find any workshop manuals on the 2.8 engine. I did find a link on a Jeep forum for an online manual but my antivirus had a fit so that was that.
Yes they have a cambelt and everyone, mostly Jeep guys, that I have spoken to have said change it immediately if there's no record of it having been done. So honestly for peace of mind I'll be switching it out if I do buy another GV and its the 2.8 diesel!

When I bought my 2.5 CRD (very similar to the 2.8 I am told) with 200K km on the counter I replaced the timing belt together with the waterpump and clutch. Just to be sure.
The Chrysler dealer asked a ridiculous amount of money for that maintenance (like over €1.500,- or something) so I bought the parts online and my hometown mechanic did the job.
Cost me like €800,- work and parts.
Now I am at 350K km without any trouble and I will keep driving till the engine fails

Also Does any body know if the new 6 speed automatic gear box on the 5th gen GV, have a dip stick for the gear box, so you can keep a eye on your fluid? As in all of my my old automatic GV have had a dip stick.
Thanks

2009 T&C diesel
Would never buy a 2009 it's not assemble very well and common known for poor door alligment .
And Diesel is getting ban every where in Europe now .
I'm allways been driving diesel and loved it both the 2.5TD and 2.5CRD but all the problems with exhaust filter / EGR and high road taxes , excuse to fund other problems in EU will make me change next time to a GAS 3,3 or the new 3,6 with 6 speed is just a smooth drive.
