Default 2007 G/Voyager/Exec/UK. US/Metric Fuel Question

Hi all

Does anybody know if the trip computer is calibrated in US or UK gallons on UK spec vehicles? As the display can be set US or metric it got me wondering as US gallons are smaller than UK's. Did a trip from Portland to Bristol Airport and back last night and the mpg was 24.9 which seemed a bit low and then it hit me if its US gallons that would be near 30 mpg which (with roofbox) isn't too bad.

sorry for being dumb but at the grand age of 32 I only released this the other day when feeding my 3 week old daugther and saw that uk oz's are smaller than US oz's on her feeding bottle.

Sorry for being no help but I doubt they would have calibrated the UK spec seperately.

Is the weather hotter in the US too ????? (joking)

I monitor the fuel consumption of my UK 2.8 CRD carefully, using both the trip computer and the trusted method of briming the tank and noting mileage between fill-ups.

The UK spec trip computer is definitely calibrated in UK gallons.

Is yours a Diesel?

Have just done it the full tank way and yes your right,almost the same mpg as the trip computer. Must be the junk filled roof box thats costing me a few mpg. Yes its a 2.8 CRD. I had a 2.9 CRD auto Kia Sedona before which had a superb auto box but the engine was rather vocal and returned about 30mpg with the same Thule bars and box on top. When I bought the G/Voyager the trip computer read 29, but the new 2.5 CRD G/Voyager Limited I bought in 2001 could almost hit 40mpg and I'm shure it was faster. Must be the auto box which according to various reviews is a bit on the slow side and not best in the world. Combine the Chrysler engine and Kia auto box and we'd have a winner.

It's true you do get a few more MPG with the manual version, but some of that is down to the smaller 2.5 rather than 2.8 engine. You are right that on paper the manual is slightly faster than the auto.....but thats usually the case with any car with an auto/manual option. The Auto transmission in the Voyager may hurt performance and MPG a bit, but it's smooth and suits the car quite well. It's renowned for its reliability and longevity.

I get 34 MPG driving around locally. This goes up to 38 MPG on a longer trip. But I don't really have a heavy right foot. The MPG really suffers above about 75mph.......30 MPG if you're lucky. By contrast I once drove 200 miles on the motorway at 55 mph, and got 51 MPG!

Great photo buddy, must say I'd take the Grand Voyager out for dinner any day over the Sedona, so much sexier!!

My 2.5CRD is currently returned around 38mpg which I'm pretty pleased with, seeing as the missus likes to drive everywhere in 3rd gear!!

We did a reset on the motorway the other day and it manage 48mpg cruising are 75mph
