I just purchased a 2009 VW Routan, which is the same thing as a 2009 T&C with "euro" styling & stiffer suspension.
The vehicle is loaded RER MyGig, VES, Backup camera, etc.
I'd like to know if anyone has any wiring diagrams for the factory installed rear view camera. WHere the power is coming from to power up that camera.
I am going to install a "NAV-TV" for the MyGig (ask me, I sell them) which allows video in motion, navigation in motion, backup camera in motion, etc.
Since I tow a trailer, the benefit of having the rear view camera on all the time is paramount. I mean it's there, why not make it work???
So, i'm looking for any wiring diagrams on the rear view camera that comes from the factory, so I can rewire it for 12v all the time, not just when the reverse lights are on. This way I can pull up the backup camera when driving using NAVTV - ALLGIG-USB device connected to the MyGig RER radio.
The power is only applied to the rear camera when reverse is engaged, then a video sensing input on the RER head unit switches to that input.
