2010 T&C key fob sticking
My key fob (fobik?) sometimes gets stuck and won't turn to lock so I can remove it. I have to move the shifter handle from park to drive and back a few times before it will release the fob.
I know there is a switch in the shifter control but don't know how to remove the shifter from the dash to access it for repairs.
Anyone removed their shifter from the dash before? If so, want to give me an idea how you did it? Don't want to tear up my dash.
My daughter's Saturn ION had this issue and I fixed it by adjusting the micro-switch (bending the tang) at the shifter that sends the signal to that vehicle's passlock so it could recognize the car was indeed in park and release her key.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

That write-up was really helpful!!
Just got finished replacing my shifter.
Found a new one on ebay for 1/2 price shipped.
The color was brown, but those are just plastic parts you can switch over from the old one.
Fobik doesn't stick anymore. Wife is very happy.
Sad that these shifter mechanisms get sloppy so quickly. Our van only has 80k miles on it.
