I have a 2012 model, 166k miles. Driving it this morning, sitting at a red light it just shut off, everything electrical as well. It's throwing a P0605 code, which I read on here is a TCM that needs to be replaced. Would the TCM cause the whole vehicle to shut completely down?
I was able to put it in N and immediately restart it.

So, in doing all my research, it seems as though it could be the TIPM. I read a post on another site of someone posted a similar story. I also read where someone's radio would just shut off while the van was on randomly, which this happened last week.

Our 2008 TC has been doing this ever since we have had it.
5 years now. may be 3 to 10 times a year.
It just dies. I notice it while pulling to a rail crossing the most 4 or 5 times at least.
But has just died on the freeway too.
No codes, it just dies.
Funny thing the vehicle does not know it is not running. Normally you would get idiot lights on the dash or something.
Nothing just coast to the side of the road.
Turn the key off and back on. Off she goes as if nothing happened.
Very frustrating and my wife does not trust it.Nor do I.
I have reset the TIPM (Put the battery cables together and leave over night.)
Replaced pretty much every ground wire I can find.
I do have a spare TIPM that I picked up used. not installed though.
I wish what ever is the culprit would just break. I would just fix it.
But it is so intermittent you cant be sure. I made it 5 months after redoing all the ground points.
Thought I had it.
NOPE.... died.
Yes we do still have the vehicle.
We purchased a 2016 TC as a replacement two years ago. ( My wife loves these vans.We have had Chrysler mini vans since 1994.)
Not one single issue with that one.
But this is Minnesota. In the winter the 2016 gets washed, oil change, parked in the garage and covered.
The 2008 gets to eat the salt.
Ohh one thing I have heard but have not tried yet. Some people have reported the same symptoms from a failing KEY FOB sensor.
That kind of makes sense. What happens if the sensor just forgets there is a key there?
