2014 T&C, can't find the transmission fill port
I'm the local helper for some friends and one just purchased a 2014 T&C used with 33k miles on it. I wanted to check the transmission fluid but can't find where to check the fluid. Does this model even have a dipstick/fill port? I see that there is a transmission pan that can be removed, 12 bolts. I take it there is a filter that can be serviced there? Thanks.

Here's a photo of the 62TE transmission, you can see the fill tube with the red plug in the end.
These vans do NOT come with a dip stick, but you can buy one, but they are not made to be left in place. Here are three part numbers for dipsticks:
- Mopar #9336A
- Dorman 917-327
- Assenmach Specialty Tools
Here's a link to the instruction for the Assenmach dipstick, the same intructions apply for the others:
http://asttool.com/pdf/INSTRUCTIONS_CRY933.pdf
The Transmission service schedule for that van is 120,000 Miles or 12 years for normal service, and 62,000 Mile or 6 years if using the vehicle for any of the following: police, taxi, fleet, or frequent trailer towing.
The service consist of changing the automatic transmission fluid and filter.

Lack of an autobox dipstick is a 'fad' from manufacturers as I know only to my cost with the S-type Jag. I had before my GV. At least here you seem to be able to buy one!
With only 33,000mile on the vehicle you should not need to replace ATF unless the motor has been badly 'raced'. If you examine the outside of the autobox carefully and it is dry, i.e. no oil-leaks, you need investigate no further.
In normal use, meaning no continual hill-climbing or trailer-towing, it seems most autoboxes need the RIGHT ATF to replace after 60,000mile for full synthetic, or 30.000mile for mineral ATF. The RIGHT ATF has the appropriate friction modifiers for the wet-clutch around the torque converter. Many designs use this clutch in "slipping-mode" in the intermediate gears to save fuel and to actuate over-run in deceleration fuel shut-off mode, another fuel-saving technique.

Thanks for the information. They want to try and keep this van as long as possible. A family of 5 and with a new born and two other little ones. They had a 2004 T&C and it has 140k on it and the transmission was starting to go. It was never taken care of and they don't want to make the same mistake. I'm the local helper and just like doing fluid changes for those in my neighborhood. If I can help them I will. Thanks again.

Hi folks. I'm a little confused. Service Manual says 64k miles for ATF change only if in severe service. I'm reading here change it anyways. Any further thoughts? I'm at that mileage now but mostly highway non-towing. Also, any idea on the price of the dipstick? Thanks.
