Owning my 07 Chrysler Town and Country Touring with the 3.8 since 11/19/12 and with miles driven, it has seen 2 oil changes(im a 5,000 mile guy). I have read many comments in other forums stating the this 5w-20 oil is not liked and many alao mentions that is makes their engine noisier. I however have had not a single problem using this oil, the same 5 quarts thats goes in is the same that comes out, dont even have to had any amount during my 5,000 miles. Just looking for some feedback in this forum. I believe that 5w-20 being a newer oil compaired to other weights as in 10w-30, many are just stuck on the old ways and have fear in their minds.

 

Apples and oranges but I've been using a 0W-20 synthetic oil in my RAV4 for the last 108K miles. No ticks, nothing.

 

Out of curiosity is that the weight said in the owners manual for the Rav4?

 

The manual is several hundred miles away right now but it does say to use either 0w20 or 5w20 on the cap. The dealer verbally recommended the 0w20. Was using the Toyota brand synthetic while under warranty but just started using the Pennsoil brand synthetic once the warranty was up at 100k. Course as you recall I'm one of those abusing their engines changing the oil every 7500 miles.
