Default 6 disc CD/DVD Changer

PLEASE HELP! We have a 2005 Town & Country Touring SS. It has the RAZ AM/FM Stereo Radio with cassette player, CD player and CD changer controls. We also have the 6 disc CD/DVD Changer. We got a DVD jammed in our player and something in there broke. We were told it could not be fixed to just tryand replace it. I found the same model number (P05094033AA) on ebay and bought it used. WhenI installed it the lights flashed back and forth and I got an ERROR message on my radio display screen. Other than that it didn't work. You could not load any DVD's into it. The seller sent me a replacement which did work but it was only a single disc player and we couldn't use our headphones so we also sent that one back. I waited a few months and found another 6 disc changer on ebay. It came yesterday and when I installed it, I got the same flashing lights and error message. I called my dealer who told me that even though the model number was the same it also had to be the same Serial number as the original. Has anyone had this problem? Not sure what to try next.

No sure why the dealer would tell you that... serial numbers are usally different on parts so the part is unique. Is it possible the 1st one you bought changed hands to someone else and you bought the same changer again? Do you know anyone with a similar vehicle to try it in? Can your dealer test it for you in one of their vans?

I guess it's not due to the serial numbers afterall but some sort of code from the original stereo it was hooked up to. Apparently it can't read the code coming from my stereo? I don't really understand it. I guess it's an anti theft feature? It's just weird because we had a used single disc player at one point and it worked. I wish I had just kept that one. As far as us buying the same one twice? I suppose that's possible but unlikely.

That does not sounds right.. the theft part. Look for a guy on ebay.. MrCd1. He sells all chrysler radios, dvd, navigation etc. You can maybe email him and ask about the error code. He knows these things inside and out. I have bought a few products from him and his service has been great. I recently bought the DVD screen for my rail system and it works great w/ my 6 disc changer.

I have a similar problem with my DVD player in the T&C (6 disk player) one minute it was working OK, the next it was showing error messages when trying to eject any, not playing any of the DVDs and flashing the 6 DVD lights in a sequence of 3 and 3.

I agree to mrfixit454.Serial numbers are unique and design to distinguised a specific part.I wonder why in three times you got the error message, considering the same serial number.Maybe you could do some troubleshooting first. If you can find other car to try it,much better to see where is the real problem.

Does anyone know how to get the DVD player out? I have taken the consol surround off but cannot seem to get the DVD player out. Do I need a special tool or is there a hidden catch that will release it?
