94 T&C choking and sputtering under acceleration
A couple weeks ago my wife hit a pothole and broke the steering gear (in half) (don't ask) on her '94 Town & Country. That's been fixed now, but since that repair she's having problems with the engine sputtering and missing under heavy acceleration. It's got new air filter and breather foam, and sparkplugs are new. EGR does need to be replaced, but that needed replacing before this all happened. I checked the entire engine for a vacuum tube that might have been disconnected during the repair, but I can't find anything that looks out of place.
It seems to me like timing, and I suspected that the timing belt may have slipped at the same time as she broke the steering gear, but then I found that the 3.8 has a chain and not a belt. Has anyone ever seen a 3.8 slip a tooth on the timing chain, and if so do ya think it'd cause these kind of problems that I'm seeing?
